While anyone can join the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, becoming an accredited member is a rigorous process with experience and exams as important components. In order to be included on the AACD referral list, Fellow Accredited, Sustaining and General Members must have attended two of the four most recent annual conferences (a four-day scientific session). This four year period is monitored beginning with each member’s initial year of membership. To become an accredited member a cosmetic dentist must continue his/her education, take a written and oral exam and submit clinical cases and reports.
