Dental School CurriculumThe first two years of Dental school is primarily the study of biological sciences to learn about the function of the body and the body's diseases. During the first two years, students will also learn the basic principles of oral diagnosis and oral treatment. Students will begin to practice on models of teeth and mouth. In the final two years of the school, students learn through clinical practice. They begin to treat patients under the supervision of clinical instructors. These instructors may be set up through local hospitals or school-affiliated dental labs. Students learn the basic techniques involved in restorative dentistry, periodontics, oral pathology, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and all other types of dentistry that are found in a typical general dental practice.
